Welcome to Mazaro
Arlington’s favorite Italian restaurant.
At Mazaro, we take pride in our modern take on authentic Italian food. We offer a variety of appetizers, salads and delicious entrees. We also offer an extensive wine list, paired nicely with all of our exquisite meals.
Online orders are available.
Our customers love us.
The Italian place that was here before was mediocre so I had stayed away....I was very dumb for that - Mazaro is delicious! Great cocktails, friendly service, neighborhood vibe (ie great for that Clarendon date night and also tables full of Lyon Village families), and even better food. Not going to rave about the pizza BUT I will rave about the Carbonara which felt like I was in Rome again and the duck still has my mouth watering.
This place is on heavy rotation now, stop in, sit at the bar, and give in to your carb desires.
I'm gluten free so when I find an Italian restaurant that offers GF options I get so excited!
The gf penne with bolognese is delicious and we're addicted to the Smoked Duck entree. We talk about this duck ALL the time and go back almost weekly to get it.
My friend and her boyfriend had the Pasta Alla Scoglio and they both said it was the best pasta they've ever had!
The grilled octopus was also a huge hit at our table but we'd avoid getting the sautéed calamari again. It was pretty rubbery and flavorless. Otherwise 10/10 food but service is pretty slow but I try not to consider that in my review due to staffing shortages!
This place is so much better than the previous Italian restaurant that was here. I went out a limb and ordered a few dishes with a friend and it was wonderful! First off, the watermelon salad was great. Completely different than what I would imagine it to be, it was sweet and fresh and savory and an absolute delight. The fish dish is what I enjoyed the most. They were able to debone and split it in half before bringing it out and I thought it was tasty and so well cooked. Lastly, the bruschetta/avocado toast was also great. All the ingredients here are so fresh that it transports you to somewhere in the Mediterranean -- something we all want but desperately waiting patiently for.
Amazing food and lovely setting/ambiance! This is a great spot for a romantic date night and even catching up with old friends. Me and my friends came here for dinner and absolutely loved it. The butternut squash ravioli is a must have! I enjoyed it more than the carbonara that I ordered. We all split the Capellini Al Pormedoro which was basically Angel hair pasta with tomato sauce and was divine. The calamari i thought was just okay, probably would not get again. Plenty of options for wine. Excellent customer service. So happy to have tried this place.
In photo- top right is Rissoto Funghi Porcini& Truffle, middle right is Fiocchi Formaggi & Pere, bottom is Butternut Squash Ravioli (my personal favorite), top left is Carbonara Alla Romana, and the middle is the Capellini Al Pormedoro (second favorite, it's basically Angel hair pasta).
I went here with my mom and we sat on the patio area since it was a nice day. Our server was nice and checked on us often and took our order in a timely fashion. I ordered the lemoncello martini which had the perfect amount of lemon to vodka. It was very refreshing. We ordered the calamari to start and when it first arrived it was over cooked and then the manager came over to check on us and I told him and he had the kitchen to make another order for us.
When we received the new order it was cooked better but the calamari wasn't anything to really rave about. The sauce on the side does have a spice to it so if you like spicy you'll be fine but just so you know.
For our entree we both ordered the lobster ravioli which was also nice but nothing to rave about as well but it was filling. I love Italian food so maybe I'm picky but I do think there are better options for Italian food but the service as a whole was nice from the server, busser and manager.
Came here with a few friends and really enjoyed our meals. The carbonara wasn't the best I've ever had but I would definitely get it again, it was still really good. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was friendly. I found a 20% off coupon on Yelp that the owner didn't know was there but he still honored it and thanked us for pointing it out, he was extremely friendly. Our only complaint was we didn't see our server for at least 30 minutes after we finished eating so it took a while to get our check and pay.
